The Congregational Church of Plainville is pleased to announce the introduction and commencement of a congregation-wide, lectionary-based approach to education and worship. Seasons of the Spirit is an international, inter-denominational, multi-cultural initiative that is vibrant, vital, engaging, educational and Christ-centered. The Church School curriculum (for all ages) features a lectionary-focused, multi-faceted approach to learning. With interactions tailored to different learning styles, activities are centered around various “zones” (Art, Quiet, Community, Outreach and Music). The children and youth have many options each week regarding how they interact with and approach learning about the focus scripture and related topics. They will have access to a “Chat” feature, using computers to “Ask the Rabbi” curriculum-related questions. The Young Adult and Adult curriculum components are equally engaging and vibrant, developmentally appropriate and similarly focused on weekly lectionary texts. New music, with international flavor and written especially to compliment the curriculum will enliven not only the classroom, but worship services, as we dedicate this year to being a faith-filled community in God’s world. The entire congregation ~ couples, families and friends ~ will find themselves in animated encounters with one another, with their worship/church experience the focus of their interactions.
